About US

The Willamette Valley Woodturners was created in May of 1997 to serve woodturners in the mid-Willamette Valley region of Oregon. While many of our members live in or near Salem, a number of our members come from across the valley. Several travel from the Corvallis area in the south, or from McMinnville, Lake Oswego and other communities to the north. We also draw members from as far west as the Oregon coast, and east to the Cascade mountains. All these men and women have a few things in common – a love of woodturning, a desire to learn, and a willingness to share. We are now approximately 75 members strong, ranging in age from our senior member at 89, and our youngest member at 14. Our club is open to anyone regardless of gender, race, religion, or level of woodturning experience. For liability reasons, we ask that minors be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Our club has a regular meeting on the second Thursday of each month.  We meet at the Salem Senior Center, now called Center 50+, located at 2615 Portland Rd., NE, Salem, OR 97303. Click here for a map. Doors open at 6:00 PM for visiting and use of the library. The meeting starts at 6:30 PM and ends by 9:00 PM, when the center closes.
