Demonstrator: Elizabeth Weber
Elizabeth is a woodturning and carving instructor from Seattle,
who began woodworking in 2015. She now specializes in bowls,
spoons, and boxes. She was awarded the AAW’s 2023 Professional
Outreach Program’s Artist Showcase, and was featured on the cover
of American Woodturner.
Program Details: Exploring Colors and Textures
This demonstration will cover techniques for adding texture and
carving to any turned piece. We’ll look for inspiration, the value
of storyboards in your design, and various workholding methods
to support your carving. You’ll learn how power and hand tools
can create carved and textured surface enhancements. Additionally
we’ll briefly cover using milk paint and acrylics to add color,
and finishing options to provide desired effects in your final piece.

Darcy's Shop Sawdust Session
Program Details: Join your fellow turners to work through issues,
solve problems, complete projects, or just hang out and visit!
Please – to help out everyone who attends – WEAR YOUR CLUB NAMETAG!
The photo booth will be set up if you have nice pieces you would
like to have photographed and included in the club’s website gallery.
Experienced turners will be on hand to help with sharpening, turning
techniques, and finishing suggestions.
The session will begin at 10:00 a.m. and cleanup will start at about 1:30 p.m.
for a 2 p.m. end-of-session. Let's be courteous to our host!
